Dear Professor Chao, Dr. George and all Brother and Sister Scouts in Taiwan,

We are saddened by the recent news of the heavy downpours brought by the Typhoon since 8th August which caused such havoc and disaster in eastern and southern Taiwan.

We were gripped with sadness when we saw from the news that whole villages were washed away by landslides causing great loss of lives and damages to properties.

Our hearts are always with our brothers and sisters in Taiwan. I have received numerous requests from our scouts here in Hong Kong who volunteer to fly over to Taiwan in joining the relief work organised by the General Association of the Scouts of China.

We will also organise a fund raising campaign here in Hong Kong for contributing to your relief works and to show the fraternity between us in this time of need.

For those brothers and sisters who have lost their loved ones or their lives we send to them and their families our deepest condolence.

Please do not hesitate to tell us what you need and we will do all we can (no matter how small it may be) to assist.
